Activity 3. Data Visualisation. Is there a relationship between mood and heart rate?
Your task is to graph the information from your self-study at home and draw conclusions about whether there is a relationship between mood levels and heart rate.
- Open the online table from Google Sheets, Sheet 2 – Chart. Familiarise yourself with the instructions for creating a chart in Google Sheets from Worksheet 4. Instructions for creating a chart in Google Sheets
- You can also work on Worksheet 3. Diagram.
- Use the data from Worksheet 0. Pre-measure your pulse, and calculate for each day what your average mood value is.
Example: For day “Monday”, if the three mood measurements are as follows: 5, 4, 3, then it follows that the average mood value on the day “Monday” will be (5+4+3):3 = 4 - Note on the chart for each day what your mood value was. Connect the dots to create a line graph.
- Participate in the class discussion: What conclusions can we draw, do we find any relationship between our recorded mood over the past days and our heart rate?
